The Victoria & Albert, M3 4JQ.

Last month I indulged in my first ever afternoon tea and, in the spirit of hunting out the best, a friend and I checked out the Marriott‘s finest. Due to me getting out of bed at the last-minute on Saturday it meant the first sip I took on the day was of champagne…I could get used to this!

Okay, so it lacked the vintage warmth of Sugar Junction (SJ) but the Victoria & Albert had a water side view and red brick walls to create more of a fresh atmosphere. The sandwiches weren’t as adventurous as SJ’s, but given that I’m not a fan of cream this selection of cakes was right up my street. It’s hard to compare the two places fairly as they’re both aimed at different audiences and the eats were different…apart from the scones that is, in which case SJ steals it for me!
